Cozy Bee has decided the hive won't have a lonely November, and she didn't ask anyone before deciding. By the first frost she had a book club, a soup swap, and a Thursday trivia night on the calendar. She'd also booked a Friday for "lantern stuff," which she still hasn't explained.
She knows everyone's business, and she knows it early. She knew Goblin Bee had switched barbers before Goblin Bee's barber knew. She has notes on the harvest fair parking plan and on the font on the fair flyer. Most of them are correct, and none of them were requested.
She has had the same window seat at the corner diner every morning since she arrived. The owner says he only saves it so she'll stop rearranging the other tables. One Tuesday, Boram's mug was still on its hook for the third day running. Cozy Bee ordered a second slice of pie to go, didn't say who it was for, and took the long way home past Boram's door.
Her mother knitted the scarf the winter Cozy Bee left home. It's a little too long because her mother kept going while they talked on the phone. Cozy Bee will tell you it's uneven. She has never once let anyone else fix it.
