The lore

Festival Bee appointed himself Minister of Festivities during the very first Honey Festival, and nobody has ever located the paperwork required to un-appoint him. His official position is that every day is at most three business days away from a festival — and if it isn’t, that’s a scheduling failure he intends to raise. At the next festival.

The beard is real. The bow tie is ceremonial. The top hat contains, in descending order: confetti, a backup bow tie, a laminated speech titled “Fellow Bees,” and a smaller hat for emergencies.

During the Honey Festival he personally inspects every celebration for adequate sparkle, buzz, and snack density. His clipboard holds exactly one checkbox. It says “festive?” He has never once checked “no” — because, in his words, “the festival was inside the hive all along. Also, I brought confetti.”
